About Tim

Tim Pino is the Retired Chief/K9 Unit Commander of the Somerset County Sheriff's Office and wants to take public safety in Somerset County in "A New Direction" with his recent announcement of Running for Somerset County Sheriff.

In addition to overseeing the K9 Unit, following a drug dealer's death threat on coming to the Pino residence to kill his K9 partner Dano in 2008, Chief Pino successfully lobbied the New Jersey legislature for over 5 years to change the laws protecting police K9s (and horses) and the families they live with from future death threats. "Dano's Law" was signed into law in 2013 by the Governor and named after Chief Pino's police dog, Dano. It remains the first law in the history of the State of New Jersey to be named after an animal. Chief Pino has a proven record of showing he can successfully work with both sides of the aisle in a bipartisan way in Trenton to get #DanoLaw passed, as Republicans and Democrats all unanimously supported it.

Tim Pino is a Bridgewater resident and married father of two school children. Tim enjoys coaching his son's 7/8th grade Bridgewater football team and watching his daughter's 3/4th grade lacrosse games. In his spare time (which is rare) Tim enjoys playing tennis, ice hockey, and fantasy football. Tim, who is an avid animal lover and national animal advocate, currently sits on the Executive Boards of the Somerset County Regional Animal Shelter and Somerset County 4-H. That animal shelter which was once near bankruptcy is now financially thriving after two years of Tim's efforts with reorganizing their marketing platform to receive much higher visibility for donations.

During his law enforcement career Chief Pino kept Somerset County safe 24/7, 365 by being the K9 Unit Commander of the Sheriff's Office. Along with his K9 partner, Dano, they responded to over 600 calls for service as well as overseeing all responses to search warrants, bomb scares, armed robberies, tracking of fleeing suspects and recovery of missing children & seniors.

Please assist us in getting K9 Unit Commander/Chief Tim Pino elected Sheriff in 2019 so Tim and his new police dog can get back on the streets of Somerset County keeping our children safe once again!
